Shaban Nazarian, MD. as a board certified Endocrinologist Dr. Nazarian adheres to the imperatives of patient safety, and understand the ultimate goal is to explore and leverage science to improve the quality of living. Dr. Nazarian has seen first hand the benefits of medical discovery in his specialty as well as others, and continues to explore ideas. As the Medical Director Dr. Nazarian works directly with the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and takes an active role in the Data Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB). Dr. Nazarian also serves as a Principle Investigator.
Medical Director
Felix Scholz PhD, Felix has spent most of his career in basic research in academia at the University of Kiel, Mayo Clinic and the University of Minnesota. His studies were mostly about skin innate and adaptive Immunology and microbiome research. His academic studies are published in peer reviewed journals. In 2014 he switched into industry and led a research and development team to design novel lab tests for infectious diseases and allergies. In 2018 he became the CEO of Infectolab Americas, an infectious disease testing lab in Oakdale Minnesota. Research is still his passion where he can put his experience and expertise to use. Executive Director
Mark Cavanaugh, MS Social Work. Mark is an educator and has worked tirelessly in public education. He brings perspectives in social justice and service to diverse communities as an ethical grounding as an advisor of and valued member of the board of Medical Science Research. Mark is a valued member of the Medical Science Research Institutional Review Board.
Jonathan k. James, MPH, PhD. has an education in Public Health and Epidemiology. James has participated as a researcher in multiple trials resulting in the launch of novel medications and/or medical devices, i.e. an international trial of Perceval, sutureless aortic valve. James current project includes the restructure of a non-profit, federally qualified, essential community clinic.
Theodore James. Theodore brings to the organization the skills sets of an entrepreneur and a person who has the education and training as a top level executive. Theodore has experience guiding organizations in the technology sector, in the aviation industry, as well as in medical and science. His grounding as an entrepreneur has lead to cost savings, creative solutions, efficiency, and quality improvement.
Shaban Nazarian, MD. is a board certified Endocrinologist and brings a level of expertise and clinical training that guides the development of protocols and projects. Dr. Nazarian is also serves as a Principle Investigator.
Dave Thorson, MD. serves on multiple medical and advisory boards. As a medical provider he is tethered to a fundamental urgency for ethics in medicine and is driven to improve the quality of care. Dr. Thorson is a strong patient advocate for lifelong health.

Crispin Semakula, MD., is a Board Certified Endocrinologist with certifications in Internal Medicine, is a recipient of the American Cancer Society Lou Fuller Award, and has an appointment as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota Medical School. Dr. Semakula is published in Diabetes Care, Diabetologia, Pancreas, Clinical Endocrinology, Endocrine Practice, and the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism.
